Fall Conference 2006: Teaching to the Multiple Literacies

By CUE Executives

Teaching to the Multiple Literacies Conference, October 19 and 20th, 2006

Riverside Secondary School, Port Coquitlam, BC

All educators will find something for them at our fall conference.  As our theme suggests we are reaching out to every classroom teachers.  It is certainly true in our district, whether you teach at elementary, middle or secondary school, there are uses for computers.  We will have sessions on using computers to support reading and writing (writing literacy), accessing and evaluating electronic resources (information literacy), creating electronic documents (visual literacies) and communication skills (cultural literacy).

The Keynote Speakers will be Alan November, futurist and inspirational speaker about the power of technology to support learning and Sharon Jeroski, consultant and leader in the One to One laptop programs in our province and across North America.

This year we will be featuring a huge list of vendors that provide all the different hardware and software tools that support education.  This is an opportunity to do one-stop shopping to find products that meet their classroom needs.

Please join us at this year’s conference.
